Here is an at-a-glance look at each hotel’s rates and amenities of interest to help guide your decision:
*Block rates are available only from 10/23-10/25, must book by 9/23
*Springhill rates are only available if you book the room for both nights (night of 23rd and 24th). Great if you plan on spending the weekend in the city.
You may upgrade to a lakeview room at The Congress for $179/n or a suite for $250.
All hotels are a 10 minute drive from the wedding venue without traffic.
Check in and out times are as follows:
Congress & Hyatt: In at 3pm, Out by noon
Springhill: In at 4pm, Out by 11am
About the Neighborhoods:
The Congress is a Chicago Landmark located right across the street from Grant Park. Steps away from the city’s finest retail stores, the famous Buckingham Fountain, the Cloud Gate (aka the bean) and a short cab ride to the Museum Campus and Navy Pier, The Congress is a perfect place for those looking to stay in a scene straight out of a Chicago postcard. Of the hotels, Natalie and Justin would describe the location of The Congress as the most ‘tourist-y and historic’. Please note that this is an older, but renovated building.
The Hyatt and Springhill Suites are both in Chicago’s River North neighborhood — a hot-bed of restaurants and night life that’s a little more for-the-locals than the loop. However, River North borders the Magnificent Mile and is just a bridge away from all of the iconic buildings and experiences one associates with The Loop. At it’s core, River North is a foodie paradise buzzing with many of the city & nation’s best restaurants and cocktail lounges…all while keeping the tourist destinations (Navy Pier in particular) a stone’s throw away. These two hotels are just around the corner from each other, a 3 minute walk tops.
